QuickTime Player also allows you to record what is happening on the screen of your Mac with ease, if you can't run Mojave or don't want to install it.

STEP 1. Run QuickTime Player from your Applications folder, then choose "File" > "New Screen Recording" from the menu bar to open the "Screen Recording" window.

STEP 2. When the "Screen Recording" box pop up on your screen, you can hit on the white down arrow to edit more recording settings, such as selecting microphone options (internal or external) to record your voice or other audio with the screen recording; decide whether your mouse clicks should show up during recording or not.

* To record the entire screen, click the red record button and then click anywhere on the screen to get start the recording.

STEP 4. Once you are ready to finish recording, click the Stop button in the menu bar, or press Command-Control-Esc (Escape) for stopping. Then QuickTime Player will automatically open the recording video, and you can now play, edit, or share it.
